Hideaway Cottage is both very private and exceptionally comfortable
and well appointed. Hosts Alasdair and Lesley MacDonald offer
a free airport pick-up and spoil guests with a complimentary bottle
of wine or non alcoholic drink on arrival to be enjoyed beside
the pool, or as the season dictates, tucked up in front of a roaring
log fire or soaking in the outdoor spa pool.
We have only one room - our emphasis is on your privacy, a place
to get away and relax.
The cottage's natural setting is hard to envisage
so close to town. A generous breakfast basket is provided in your
room (which often features the produce from the property's extensive
avocado orchard), to fuel you for a full day of sightseeing, fishing,
golfing, tramping or simply savouring the Hideaway atmosphere.
From your armchairs, soak in the views of lawns, mature gardens across
a small valley to New Zealand native forest.
If you are lucky you will see at close range native pigeon or
hear the morepork at night. Guests will be able to wander in our
gardens through our avocado orchard, play petanque or have a swim
in the pool in season.
Imagine in the cooler evenings sitting by the free standing log fire and
sipping a glass of wine or sparkling grape juice.
Decor is cottagey and comfortable with a Whirlpool
convection / Microwave / Pizza Oven and television DVD player (movies
available). Warm cosy robes to wear to the outside spa pool and
have your generous breakfast delivered to your cottage.
We only have our number on the gate (not the name of the Cottage)
so you won't be disturbed by people driving in to enquire about
accommodation.
